February 5, 2007 (from May 2006) Another successful trip to the NBTA World Championships for the Canadian National Baton Twirling Team, coming home from Amsterdam with numerous medals and memories. This was my last World Championships as an athlete (I swear this time!), but I also acted as a doctor and part-time coach. A very special congrats goes to all our Canadian baton twirling athletes. Our Junior Team came home with a Bronze medal. My Senior Team came home with a Silver medal, which was our goal. Thanks to my roomies Rachelle and Rowena for the great trip! We got a few days after the competition to roam around Amsterdam and see all that it has to offer!

January 24, 2006 A Model Story! Many girls have asked me this question: how did I get myself into modeling, and become successful at it? For me, it's a process that is hard to describe. First and foremost, my true occupation is not as a model... so what makes me the expert anyway?! But for whatever reason, people think I have some knowledge to share. So here goes what I know. I had never even worn a bikini to the beach for god's sakes, never mind on a stage for everyone to see! I was a baton twirler/gymnast... not a bikini model!! I started in modeling when I did my first photo shoot for the Toronto Sun in 1997. I was the Sunshine Girl the day that Princess Diana died... and surprisingly many people still have this newspaper in Toronto! Read more at Pubclub! |

January 8, 2006 New Year Greeting
Dear Friends, I travelled more this year than any other year so far! (Which is my favourite aspect of it all!) I started my year in New York City, and went on to Orlando (okay, it's nowhere really special but to a Canadian in February... it means a lot!), Los Angeles, Long Beach, Cleveland, Edmonton, San Jose, Montreal, Las Vegas (2), Mexico City, and Quebec City! I got to see the famed Playboy Mansion, and yes it looks just like you see on TV, and was fortunate to win Playboy's Girls of Golf Contest. My visit to the Playboy Mansion can be viewed in my Gallery. My favourite aspect of the whole year (other than finally graduating) was my involvement in the Face of Champ Car contest and the Champ Car World Series. I acted as a contestant delegate co-ordinator. I was a rookie this year at helping to take care of the girls in the contest, and I know that I have a lot to learn! (A LOT!!) I hope the girls were able to learn from me, as opposed to viewing me as their competition... because I'm not any more. I hope that I can take what I learned from this past season into the next season and continue to improve upon it. All of my experiences with the contest can be viewed in my Champ Car 2005 Gallery. I'm looking forward to a wonderful 2006... full of mystery and excitment! I hope that I still have those horseshoes that my friends claim are permanently stuck to my body! Thank you to everyone who checks in on me through my website... even my close friends keep up with me through my site! Sorry for always being so busy! Thank you to everyone for all the support no matter what I get myself into! And a special thank you to those very close to me in my life, that put up with me, and all that comes with me being me... all the time!! :)
Love, |

December 30, 2005 Face of Champ Car finals - Mexico City, November 2005 It was a very exhausting yet exciting week, although Mexico City is not exactly somewhere that you can just walk around freely. We had private vehicles that we were driven in, and full security/bodyguards... with the dark glasses, the ear pieces, the works! The competition among the finalists in the Face of Champ Car contest was fierce... and that is an understatement. It was beyond competitive! The girls competed in interview judging, a TV screen test (which was very cool because they got to interview a Champ Car driver about anything they wanted), and swimwear judging. They had numerous media appearances, and it seemed like we were always being chased away by the local police during photo shoots... don't ask me, I have no idea why! The race was exciting as Rusport Racing finished 1-2 with Justin Wilson taking the checkered flag, followed by AJ Allmendinger, and Paul Tracy. (Thank you AJ for taking me on the parade lap before the race!) Sebastian Bourdais had already captured the Champ Car Championship while in Australia the race before. It was at the Champ Car Awards banquet that our first ever Face of Champ Car winner was announced, and that was Toronto's Miss Molson Indy, Brandi Latimer! Toronto kicks butt again! I was so proud of her. She will represent the Face of Champ Car and Champ Car itself in 2006 in style and grace! Congrats Brandi! And so that brought to a close my 2005 Champ Car involvement. Enjoy the pics from Mexico City, and I guess we'll see if I'll have more pics to add in the 2006 season.

December 29, 2005 A very special thank you to my webmaster... Ryan! I'm making him post this note against his will. Ryan has been a huge asset in my career and without him I would not be where I am today in modelling. He is a computer genius, an articulate website designer, and a very talented photographer. We've definitely progressed in both our fields since we joined forces professionally. And I know that many of my Miss Molson Indy contestants have also had great experiences working with him as a photographer. Thank you Ryan for all your tireless efforts... one day I'll be able to repay you for all your hours of work! Who would have guessed that we would be where we are today when you offered to help me with a website over 2 years ago?! Many thanks!
(Note from Ryan: I am a very lucky guy.) |

December 9, 2005 To Our Baton Kids, I'd like to wish all of our baton twirling girls a Happy Holiday season! Thank you to all the parents for helping us to participate in so many Christmas events! You'll never think of a parade the same way again... and now most of you have actually been in one as well... haha. My very first event was a mall parade in 1984, so it's just a starting point, but look where you can go! Dee Ann and I will miss you all during the holidays but look forward to seeing you in early 2006 to continue to prepare for our competition season. Twirl Mania in Florida is not that far away... 2 months and counting!
Best Wishes, ![]()

October 30, 2005 I am pleased to announce my return to competitive baton twirling. I had retired from competitive twirling after our CNBTA Canadian Championships in 2003 as the Canadian Champion in the freestyle event, also placing 10th at our World Championships earlier that year in Marseille, France. Since then I have spent my time being a member the CNBTA National Executives, as well as coaching within my private club, Starlight Destiny Sports Performance Club... but that stick has never really left my hands! Recently an opportunity has come my way that has allowed me to be a member of our Canadian Senior World Team that will represent Canada at the 2006 NBTA World Championships in Eindhoven, The Netherlands (Holland). I had great success during my first trip to the Netherlands in 1993, capturing a bronze medal in the Junior Pairs event for Canada. I am thrilled to be back in the gym twirling, and although the ladies I am twirling with are a few years younger than me... and I was feeling muscles I forgot I had after the first few practices... but apparently I've still got it. Not bad for a retiree! I am very happy to be back on the Canadian National Baton Twirling contingent, and look forward to defending our Senior World Team 2nd place finish back in 2003. The World Championships will be held April 12-16, 2006, at the Indoor Sport Centrum, Eindhoven, The Netherlands, followed by our touring days to Amsterdam.

June 20, 2005 Message to Family and Friends:
After 8 years in university, starting with my undergrad at the University of Toronto for my Honours Bachelors of Science (Neuroscience), and now my Doctor of Chiropractic program, I have finally completed my education! I am a Doctor of Chiropractic!! This has been a long time coming! I'd like to take this chance to thank everyone around me that has helped me accomplish so many things over these years. Not only have I been able to succeed in my educational goals, but I've been offered very fortunate opportunities in my baton twirling sporting life and in my modelling career. I would never have been able to juggle the very crazy schedule that I do without the help of my mom and dad, family, friends, and of course Brett, and even Malibu and Cookie too! Some of my friends from school have a theory about me... they think that I have horseshoes permanently attached to me! Luck always seems to go my way. Perhaps that is true, but I also believe that luck is when preparation meets opportunity! Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise, risking more than others think is safe, dreaming more than others think is practical and expecting more than others think is possible. Your attitude almost always determines your altitude in life! Thanks a million everyone!
